Anbumani removed from PMK: Ramadoss

Anbumani has been removed from the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), according to an official announcement made on Thursday by the party’s founder, Dr. S. Ramadoss.

Ramadoss has also warned that no one from the party should maintain any kind of contact with Anbumani. If anyone violates this directive, strict action will be taken.

A conflict has been ongoing between Ramadoss and his son Anbumani within the PMK. Despite Ramadoss’ opposition, Anbumani has been carrying out various party-related activities independently.

In this context, on the 19th of last month, a disciplinary committee meeting was held under Ramadoss’ leadership, during which 16 charges were made against Anbumani for acting in violation of the party’s rules and in an undisciplined manner. A notice was issued to Anbumani requiring him to respond by August 31.

As Anbumani did not respond within the given time, a 10-day extension was granted. However, as the extended deadline has also passed with no response, Ramadoss has announced that Anbumani has now been removed from the party.

Speaking to reporters at Thailapuram estate, Ramadoss said:

“Anbumani has been functioning without adhering to the party leadership. He has proven himself unfit for politics. Therefore, he is removed from the position of PMK’s President.
His actions have negatively impacted the future growth of the party, so he is also being removed from the party’s basic membership. No party member should maintain any contact with him. If anyone does, strict disciplinary action will follow.
Anbumani, along with 10 others, has been acting like a separate party. I am ready to forgive those who are with him for political gains. If Anbumani wishes, he can start his own party. But that party will not grow. PMK is a party that I founded on my own — no one has the right to claim ownership of it. Anbumani should not use my name. At most, he can use the first letter of it.”
