Actor TSK, praised for his positive role in the film ‘Bomb’

Actor TSK enters Malayalam film industry; plays Prithviraj’s friend.

Actor TSK focuses heavily on character roles.

TSK, who has won four titles in small screen comedy reality shows, has transitioned successfully into films as a busy comedy actor over the past few years. Recently, he has been attracting attention for his character roles as well. For instance, in the hugely successful film ‘Lubber Pandhu’ released last year, he played a notable negative character for the first time, which was very well received by audiences.

Currently, TSK plays an important role in the recently released film ‘Bomb’. Following his role in ‘Lubber Pandhu,’ his character in this film has also been appreciated by fans. In this context, TSK shared information about his role in ‘Bomb’ and about his upcoming films.

“I played a negative character in ‘Lubber Pandhu’. In ‘Bomb’, I am playing a completely different, positive character. However, the role for this film came to me even before ‘Lubber Pandhu’. I was impressed by director Vishal Venkat’s film ‘Sila Nerangalil Sila Manithargal’ and reached out to praise him. I expressed my desire to act in his next film. For almost two years, I did not hear anything from him.

Then suddenly one day, he called me and told me about the character in ‘Bomb’ and said that I am the one to play it. He even said that he wrote the character keeping me in mind. His faith in me was surprising. Since he is also a mimicry artist like me, he remembered and gave me this opportunity. After watching the film, many people appreciated that my acting in both ‘Lubber Pandhu’ and ‘Bomb’ shows good contrast and that I adapt well to any character. That made me proud to uphold the trust director Vishal Venkat placed in me.

The ‘Bomb’ shooting set was lively, with a feeling like going back home. Arjun Das’s voice was intimidating, but his personality was very gentle. He was very pleasant to be around. We have done mimicry of his voice in the show ‘Kalakka Povathu Yaaru,’ and he appreciated that after talking with my friend Asar. Rasavathi, Aneethi, and now Bomb—he is growing as a unique actor by choosing different kinds of roles.

Following the appreciation I got for my role in ‘Lubber Pandhu,’ I was eagerly looking for opportunities in Malayalam cinema. There, I played an important role as the friend of lead hero Prithviraj in the film ‘Vilayattu Buddha’ directed by Jayan Nambiar. Although it is a Malayalam film, my character speaks Tamil in it.

Prithviraj appreciated my acting on the set and welcomed me to the Malayalam industry by giving me an autograph. Moreover, when he spoke to the director about me, he praised me calling me a ‘strong worker.’ I was confused about that term, but the director said he meant it to appreciate my acting skills. This film is scheduled to release in October.

I am also acting in a Tamil film starring Ameer and Arulnithi, playing a unique negative role similar in depth to my role in ‘Lubber Pandhu’. This film is directed by Selvakumar and is set to release in January.

Besides these, I am playing the lead roles in two films titled ‘Dear Jeeva’ and ‘He is Pregnant’. ‘Dear Jeeva’ is directed by Prakash Bhaskar, who worked as an assistant director for Arunraja Kamaraj in films like ‘Kana’, ‘Label’, and ‘Adangathey’. ‘He is Pregnant’ is a fantasy film. Currently, I am acting in an important role alongside Balaji Sakthivel. This will be my 25th film, and my upcoming films are planned to be released at steady intervals.

There are very few actors under 35 in Tamil cinema who focus on character roles, and there is a strong demand for them. I am working hard to establish myself in that space. It is a great joy that the roles I am getting now are strengthening that position,” says TSK.
