People understand only if you say Gemini Flyover. Built in 1973, this was the very first flyover in Chennai and the third one to be built in all of India. At the time of its construction, it was also the longest flyover in the country. Since Gemini Studios was located here, the junction came to be known as Gemini Circle, and the bridge as Gemini Flyover.

As a reminder of the ban on horse racing, statues of a man controlling a horse were installed here.
Now, almost 20,000 vehicles pass through it every hour.
It was constructed by the then-famous East Coast Construction Company—I’m not sure whether the company still exists.
Later, Aircel took responsibility for the flyover’s maintenance and installed lighting on it. That company too no longer exists.
One of Chennai’s iconic landmarks, the Gemini Flyover remains as busy as ever even today.
